What is the difference?

Many times we get questions in regards to competitors, the best way is to look at the product and compare it side by side. Lets begin, the biggest competitors, in which many of their clients end up coming to us is because of failure on the cheap power leads in order to cut cost. "We do not cut corners to save pennies" our work is solid and our reputation speaks for itself.

Take a look at a recent ad of a competitor on their product in which the leads which is what feeds the electrical, these are screw in cap leads in which the positive terminal and negative terminal are exposed. These storefront LED lights outside run the risk of electrical failure or even fire from rain, or water touching both terminals.

"Theirs" - Competitors "Cheap Screw in leads"

Here is an example of a screw in lead failure, the ends will most likely be out in the open which is exposed to all outdoor elements such as rain, snow, high wind, et... once the water makes full contact with the top of the side which is exposed both positive + and negative - will cause a short circuit.

These leads are soldered with extra protection of double jacket heat-shrinks to protect from all elements. Even if water touches the lead it cannot get in the the heat shrink jacket.

We take the time to assure our products are fabricated with good quality leads in order to expand the life of the LED and to make the connection is safe.

Soldered Leads VS. Cheap Screw in leads

"You pay for what you get", goes far when making an investment for your business such as Storefront LED.

Cheap Storefront can be found with some EBAY listings, the way you can tell between a hand made high quality product and a cheap knock off is by the following:

  1. Make sure your LED is clean and visible from the SMD LED CHIP BOARD
  2. The ends are actual soldered leads instead of cheap screw in leads.

Below Figure 1) Shows a cheap screw in lead

This is an example of what to look for and to STAY AWAY! These screw in leads can cause positive and negative contact which will result in a short damaging your lights.

Step 1:

Decide whether you want to do individual windows or one complete square on all your windows.

Step 2 Indoor or Outdoor?:

Decide whether your going to install these indoor or outdoor?

If Indoor: You will need to purchase our storefront led kits with **TRACKS**

Storefront LED with tracks:

Multicolor LED with Tracks ---> RGB + Tracks

Single Color LED with Tracks --> Single Color + Tracks

Once you have purchased your storefront led with tracks. Begin  measuring your sides of the frame or where you plan to install the LED. Cut the lengths that will be needed in order to fit correctly.

Apply the double sided tape to one of the corners of the "Tracks", mount the "Tracks" to the frame and press firmly, you will be left with one side from the corner guard which faces the outside of the business. Start applying your LED on the remaining side so the LED faces the outside of the business. Be sure to take into account your power cord lenght so your left with the power cord on the bottom corners for accessible plugs.

Installing Indoor will look:

If OutdoorPlan out your installation with a layout so you can end up with the plug on one of the corners or the corner closest to the plugs inside. You will need a drill bit to drill a hole big enough to run your power cord inside. Be sure to ask your landlord before any drilling to be sure its acceptable. Start laying each module from the corner of where you plan to run your power cord, pull lightly to make sure you make nice straight lines, then run your power cord wire inside and plug.

The Benefits of Storefront LED March 13, 2015 23:04

What is LED?

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an electric current passes through it. The light is not particularly bright, but in most LEDs it is monochromatic, occurring at a single wavelength. The output from an LED can range from red (at a wavelength of approximately 700 nanometers) to blue-violet (about 400 nanometers). Some LEDs emit infrared (IR) energy (830 nanometers or longer); such a device is known as an infrared-emitting diode (IRED). Source: TechTarget 03/15/2015
